I did a 9-day trek in the lower Annapurna region with a group 12 people, led by Ram and Dan and a group of awesome porters. I could not have dreamed up a better experience. I felt so safe with Ram and Dan as our guides, knowing that they were going to make the best decisions for our route based on conditions and abilities of each of the group members. They are so kind and knowledgeable, and so generously welcomed us into Nepal and shared the sacred mountains with us. We had wonderful experiences together as a group, mixed with moments of peaceful solitude along the trail knowing that our guides were keeping track of everyone's whereabouts. I highly recommend this experience to anyone, and know that it wouldn't be what it was without Ram's incredible leadership. Contact Ram to be your guide and you will be in the best hands!

Ram Shahi has been our trekking guide in Nepal for over a decade, primarily in the Annapurna area. Ram has always been very valuable to us, guiding both large and small groups with great care and extensive knowledge of the area. He helps manage all aspects of our trek, securing our accommodations, getting our permits, checking the weather and various routes so we can adjust as needed and have the best experience. Had the luck of sharing my first experience in hiking the Himalaya's mountains with Ram and still today I am very thankful he was there enjoying the road with me .I have met many travellers unhappy of their guide, with no skills, no interest or no licence. Ram is exactly the opposite; he is happy to share his knowledge, showing habits and hidden corner of his beautiful country, and learn more about his customers and the land they come from. He made my experience unique; we have been walking around the mountains for 15 days, with our own rhythm, chatting, in silence, and enjoying the beauty of nature. Almost two years from our first trip in Nepal: it's often a good idea to travel with a guide that can explain you ways of living, religion, customs and tradition of the people. At the end of the trekking Ram (our guide) and Kali (our porter) were become travel companions. Two weeks in very good company. Very flexible and able to understand the client's needs, definitely recommend him!

I love trekking with Ram! On my first trip to Nepal we spent 9 days trekking in the Annapurna region with Ram. We spent a couple of days going to Annapurna Base Camp near the start of our trip; Ram and the porters took such good care of us… the trip was fabulous. We had some hard days of hiking, but every day was stunningly beautiful and fun. Evenings at the Guest Houses that Ram selected were filled with hot lemon tea, good healthy food and sometimes a glass of Raksi (Nepalese liquor). Ram made sure we all were safe and healthy during our trip, found us the best routes to walk and places to stay. Our porters were true professionals and by the end of our trip they were also our friends. I have been back to Nepal 3 times now and all my trekking has been with Ram. He has been a fabulous guide and a good friend. I can’t wait for my next trip in the mountains with him.

Meet Ram. He helped me hike with confidence and humor, and patiently supported my ever-weakening knees throughout our recent lower Annapurna Trail trek. Ram is an incredible trekking guide, with vast experience leading teams throughout the Himalayas. He’s smart and humble and so very sweet; he has an encyclopedic knowledge of the Himalayas, knows the trails as if they’re the lines on his own hands, is full of illuminating facts regarding the mountains, flora and fauna, local villagers, and so much more. Plus, he makes amazing chocolate banana pancakes. I am speaking truth when I say that I couldn’t have finished my trek without him. If you’re ever considering trekking Nepal, Ram is your man.

I have used Ram as our trekking guide 3 times over the last 7 years for groups of 10-15 on 9-day treks in the Annapurna Sanctuary. We’ve hired him again to lead a group of 14 in 2020. He provides competent and friendly porters and provides good advice on routes, lodges and daily conditions. I highly recommend Ram for your trekking leadership.

We booked as a group of friends with Ram highly recommended to us. What a fantastic trip it was. Carefully thought out based on our mixed fitness and interests, catering for everything we all wanted. Ram has a fantastic local knowledge and made sure we were all informed of facts and points of interest along the way. The most important thing for us was the flexibility (as much as you can be flexible on these treks) Ram was able to offer, re-arranging our plans when the weather and therefore views were not as good as they could have been when we summited Poon Hill - allowing us to stay another night to get the views the next day! The second most important thing was making sure we were all going at a pace we were comfortable with. At no point did we ever feel pressured to go faster, which made the whole experience much more enjoyable. So on a scale of 10, I have to score a perfect 10! A perfect holiday, with a very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable guide. Would definitely recommend... in fact I already have to a number of friends and colleagues who were very jealous of our regular social media updates along the way!

Did the Everest base camp trekking with my mother. Ram was the best leader for our hike, very sociable and nice and able to arrange all the guesthouses and meals very efficiently, allowing us to stay in the best places even when there was limited availability thanks to its knowledge of the mountain and of the locals.
